An early internal build of Windows 11 (296), which is anticipated to be released by Microsoft in the second half of 2021, leaked online before the company made the announcement, providing us with a preview of what it would be like to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. You may observe the new upgrade procedure in this hands-on video.
Because Windows 11 is built on the same core as Windows 10, the upgrade process hasn’t altered all that much. To put it another way, Windows 11 is just Windows 10 with additional capabilities and a new look.
With the exception of not being able to update or generate an installation USB flash drive, you still have to follow the same steps when using the Media Creation Tool. With the official release, though, this might be something that changes. Additionally, you can choose to save your data, preferences, and applications while upgrading from Windows 10.
Your hardware setup will determine when to upgrade, but it takes less than 30 minutes.
The out-of-box experience (OOBE) is not necessary because the prior installation had an account. Following the upgrade, the new desktop experience will be shown to you, complete with a redesigned Start menu, taskbar, and numerous other features.
Using the same downgrade procedure that was previously accessible with the OS, the video also demonstrates how simple it is to uninstall Windows 11 in order to revert to Windows 10. All of this takes less than fifteen minutes.
Since the OS is still not ready, this hands-on video is not intended to serve as an instructional guide for upgrading a device. At the time of writing, upgrading to Windows 11 is not advised.
