Windows 10 Feature Experience Pack outs for version 21H1 and 20H2

  • Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0 rolls out for Windows 10 as update KB5004393.
  • The update is available for testing on Windows 10 21H1 and 20H2.
  • Update KB5004393 only fixes a problem with the touch keyboard experience on Windows 10.

For Windows 10 21H1 devices registered in the Beta Channel or Windows 10 20H2 devices enrolled in the Release Preview Channel of the Windows Insider Program, Microsoft has released a new Windows Feature Experience Pack (120.2212.3920.0). There aren’t many upgrades included in this little package.

The Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0 (KB5004393), according to the software behemoth, only resolves a problem that would prevent the touch keyboard from displaying when it was invoked.

With Windows 10, Microsoft can now provide users with feature enhancements outside of the operating system’s major releases thanks to a new update procedure called the Windows Feature Experience Pack. Like installing a new build or cumulative update, the package will download and install itself automatically using Windows Update. However, commercial devices in the Release Preview Channel, such as those running Windows 10 Enterprise edition or AAD-joined machines, will not be able to access this specific release.

Even though many functionality can be updated with this new technique, only a few features are currently being developed individually. The new technique will eventually be incorporated into the current Windows 10 servicing procedure, although Microsoft is still evaluating the procedure with testers.

You must be enrolled in the Beta or Release Preview Channels through the Windows Insider Program settings in order to get the pack. To install the most recent pack, select Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update and click the Check for Updates option. You can check the Windows Feature Experience Pack version on Settings>System>About after the update has been installed and the device has been restarted.
