The Taskbar of Windows 11 apps can display a badge counter, which is a lightweight notification that tells you how many messages you haven’t read without requiring you to open the app or Notification Center.
You can disable the badge feature using the Taskbar settings page, however even though this is a helpful feature, not everyone will find it appealing because these notifications can be obtrusive and quickly clutter the Taskbar.

Disable Taskbar badge notifications on Windows 11
Use these procedures to turn off taskbar app badge notifications:
OpenSettings on Windows 11.
On Personalization, click.
On the right, click the Taskbar page.
The Taskbar behavior setting should be selected.
Clear the taskbar apps’ “Show badges” (unread messages counter) setting.
The taskbar will become less distracting when you finish the steps since the programs in it will no longer display alerts.
You may always follow the same steps to re-enable the functionality if you decide to change your mind, but in step number five, be sure to select the Show badges (unread messages counter) on taskbar apps option.
Disable Notification Center badge counter
A badge tally of missed notifications is also displayed by the Taskbar’s Notification Center button. You can disable the counter by turning on Focus assist if you don’t want to see this badge.
Use these procedures to turn off the Notification Center badge counter:
OpenSettings on Windows 11.
Select “System.”
On the right, click the Focus assist page.
The Focus assist setting should be chosen.
The priority only option should be chosen.
The indicator showing that Focus assist is enabled will remain visible even after you finish the steps, however the Notification Center button will no longer display notifications.
The same procedures described above can be used to disable Focus help; however, in step No. 5, be sure to choose the Off option.
